Endowment & Planned Giving

ENDOWMENT AND PLANNED GIVING

By making a gift through your financial or estate plans, you create a legacy of leadership, and serve as a role model for character and generosity, for generations of Highland students to come.

Endowment Gifts Build a Permanent Legacy

Every year, gifts made to the Highland Endowment going back 50 years provide about $500,000 to sustain Highland School's signature programs, student scholarships, teacher salaries, innovative faculty fellowships and training, and much more. With the launch in 2020 of The Campaign for People Endowment, the current market value across all Highland School endowments and investments has grown to nearly $13 million. Planned Giving

Supporting Highland School via tax-advantaged current or estate-planned gifts to the Highland Annual Fund or the Campaign for People Endowment offers multiple benefits to you as the donor, and to generations of children who will become the future business and community leaders of our region.

The Highland School motto - Quae Vernant Crescent - which translates as “that which is growing yields increase,” encapsulates the benefits of endowment giving and planned giving. For that reason, upon your initial commitment to an estate bequest, charitable annuity, or other forward-focused giving vehicle, you will become a permanent member of our Quae Vernant Crescent Society.

“The lasting impact of endowment gifts and planned bequests will shape Highland—and our world—for generations to come,” says Hank Berg, Head of School.  “The true power of these gifts lies in the fact that they will empower Highland to educate the leaders of tomorrow.”

Your Future Gift Will Live On

In many cases, planned gifts, such as simple bequests or charitable annuities, can be advantageous to the donor and a powerful way to provide for a future gift.  In other words, you can take care of yourself and take care of Highland at the same time.

“For many alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends of our school, a charitable bequest is the easiest and best way to make a gift to Highland,” said Donna Tomlinson, Highland's Assistant Head of School for Institutional Advancement.  “Bequests cost donors nothing right now, yet offer the satisfaction of knowing that their future gift will live on.”

Let Us Know of Your Gift

Several alumni, parents, grandparents and friends have already joined the Society and shared a Confidential Information Form (C.I.F.) with Highland School. If you have already provided for Highland School in your estate plans, please let us know. We would like to thank you for your generosity, make sure the purpose of your gift is clearly understood, and include you as a member of the Quae Vernant Crescent Society.
